Cleaner Air, Dirtier Beaches

Now that summer is here, a trip to the beach should bring familiar smells: seawater, sunscreen and, depending where you live, sewage. One in ten recreational beaches in the United States isn't fit for swimming, according to a new report.
New images from NASA's Aura satellite show that over the last decade, the amount of the pollutant nitrogen dioxide in the nation's air has decreased significantly.
