A burst of galactic cosmic rays was recorded
by the GRAPES-3 muon telescope located at TIFR’s Cosmic Ray Laboratory
in Ooty. That burst of rays occurred when the sun let loose a giant
cloud of plasma that struck our planet at a speed of roughly 2.5 million
kilometers.
