Fog and Rain

Spring in Carolina.

Today started a lot like Thursday -- a dense fog advisory, and motorists contending with visibilities of just a few hundred feet in some places before daybreak. However, temperatures this morning were mild, in the upper 50s. That was 15 to 20 degrees warmer than the same time Thursday.

Forecasters say rain will fall throughout the second part of the day, then return Saturday afternoon and night in the form of showers and possible heavy thunderstorms.

Ah, the joy!

Then again, we're not in Kansas ...
Snow and ice are already creating tricky driving conditions in western Kansas, as a huge spring storm coats pavement and sets up a wintry weekend in much of the state.

Dozens of school districts canceled classes today as blizzard warnings were expanded to include about half of Kansas. Predicted snowfall totals range from six inches to a foot or more, but winds of 40 miles per hour or higher are creating deep drifts and near-zero visibility.

A National Weather Service forecaster says whiteout conditions are likely on Interstate 70 and other highways.

... where BLIZZARD Warnings have been expanded!
