Were our earliest hominid ancestors European?

A 12-million-year-old fossil from Spain suggests that hominids migrated into Africa before the evolution of modern humans.

This makes more sense than the 'out of Africa' theories because the most activity among hominids has ever been in the 'temperate zones' of the Earth and not the 'tropical zones'.
