A recent discovery of an intermediate-mass black hole in a nearby galaxy offers the best evidence yet that a class of medium-size black holes exists.
Astronomers have gotten an unprecedented look into two beautiful stellar nurseries, revealing a dramatic display of glowing gases and some of the most massive -- and violent -- stars in the Milky Way.
