According to the PCSO, the pursuit began just before noon on Wednesday
when deputies on Interstate 8 in Casa Grande spotted a white SUV
speeding. Deputies tried to catch up with the vehicle, but it took off
onto I-10 going westbound.
When deputies caught up with it, they say, the occupants started throwing out bales of marijuana. Deputies used spike strips to flatten the tyres, and investigators say Mario Perez-Paz, 43, of Mexico, and Juan Aguilar-Zavala, 21, got out and ran from deputies but were later taken into custody.

During their interviews, the men allegedly claimed they were offered
$1,000 by a woman in Phoenix to drive the vehicle to I-8 to pick up
unknown packages.
Deputies and Department of Public Safety officers were not able to
recover all of the bales thrown from the vehicle because of traffic
conditions, and they say some drivers stopped to pick them up.
