A Florida woman says a man “dressed like an Arab” woke her up on Monday
night, held a gun to her head at her boyfriend’s Marathon home and
forced her to take a “kill pill.”
But her boyfriend told Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies no one
entered the house. In addition to saying that the “Arab” man forced her
to take the pill, Kristin Rutan Skivers, 30, told deputies her boyfriend
fought with him and chased him out of the house. She told deputies her
boyfriend told her to drink milk to try to make herself throw up.
She then went to a neighbor’s house asking to be taken to Fishermen’s
Community Hospital. That’s where Deputy Deobrash Johnson found and
questioned her.
Deputies asked her repeatedly if she was sure she was attacked and if
she was taking medication that might cause her to have a vivid dream. She insisted the story was true, Deputy Becky Herrin said.
Back at the house, Sgt. Nick Whiteman and Deputy Annette Simo spoke to
Skivers’ boyfriend, who said the two of them were sleeping when Skivers
woke up and asked him to take her to the hospital. He told her no and
went back to sleep. That’s when she went to the neighbor’s house.
Skivers was booked into jail on a misdemeanor charge of filing a false
police report.
