The United States Department of Agriculture confirmed Tuesday an
‘atypical’ case of mad cow disease or bovine spongiform encephalopathy
(BSE) in an 11-year-old beef cow in Alabama. The disease disease was
detected during a routine check in a livestock market. The animal never
entered the slaughter house channel, as per the
official statement.
