A stranger stepped forward to defend a Brooklyn woman who was punched
in the face for complaining about “manspreading” while riding the
subway Thursday.
Sam Saia, 37, was riding the N train at 7:45 a.m. EST, sitting at the
end of the car when the man next to her pushed her to the side by
spreading his legs wide open. When she requested the man to give her
some room, he started yelling, using a range of sexist slurs.
