Stampeding piglets gave police runaround on Chinese roadway

Animal News

Police in China had to close a busy motorway to catch a litter of piglets that had escaped after the truck carrying them overturned.

The breakout occurred in Guiyang province in south west China on Thursday.

The road had to be closed and traffic was disrupted as police officers tried in vain to corral the squealing animals.

After about an hour, the agile animals took shelter in the shade under a rescue truck. The policemen then pulled the piglets out one by one.
