Confused Says ...

When Life gives you lemons, make cherry pie!

Quiet on the farm.

Everyone has gone home from the weekend bash except for the immediate family ... and the Mrs., who is going to remain in the 'horse-pitial" for a couple-three days according to her doctors to whack her infection over the head and get its attention.

Mac Duff is sulking and looking for her and keeps coming up to everybody wanting to be held. We've tried to explain to him that 'mommy' is ok, just a little sick and will be back soon but he is one stubborn jack russell.

Despite the unplanned side trip the party was a success and everyone had a great time. Now all I need is a good night's sleep but I won't get it for a couple-three days if you get my meaning.

Susan of Mark and Susan said she loved the weekend even with getting a sunburn on her butt where it usually was covered by her thong bikini (so it wasn't much of a spot anyway) and already put their name on the list for next year's to-do.

A couple of sunburns, a few red rashes from the belly-flops in the pool, a large number of 'headaches' in the morning, yep, the party was asuccess.

Congratulations

Just want to give 'props' to the Appalachian State Mountaineers who handed the Michigan State Wolverines their hats and sent a message to the "Big Boys" the other day by beating them in their own house 34 to 32.

This is hard for a Catamount to do so they best enjoy it while they can.

For those that don't know there is an intense rivalry between the Western Carolina University Catamounts and the Mountaineers of Appalachian State and it was not all that long ago this old linebacker terrorized the Mountaineer backfield and we were handing everyone their hats - including the Mountainers ... and our fans were calling for us to beat Nebraska - but we never got to play them that year.

So way to go Mountaineers.

A Night At The Hospital

Turns out our Labor Day Party was cut short. The Mrs., spiked a fever of 104 and it would not come down. Since earlier this year when she survived multiple Pulmonary Embolisms (blood clots in the lungs) we took no chances and headed to the hospital ER.

Within 10 minutes they had decided to admit her ... but it still took 7 hours to get her from the ER to her room - it was 2:30am by the time we got her in the bed in her room. It took them 8 hours when she had the blood clots - so they improved by an entire hour!

Turns out she had developed an infection and it had caused the spike in body temp, but to be on the safe side the doctors are keeping her for a couple of days. She also is having a good time with the 'pain' as they are feeding her morphine along with potassium (she let it get low again), and antibiotics via IV and she isn't feeling anything.

Now if she can get some sleep between them poking and prodding her every five minutes (or so it seems) she can get some rest.

The big if is can I get some rest and sleep after feeding the animals and letting everyone at the party know she is alright but staying in the hospital, before getting back to her ... she told me to go and stay away until at least noon to rest - like that is going to happen ... she's in the hospital, when was the last time you rested when your spouse was in the hospital.

She wanted me to make sure to bring the laptop back so she could check on her favorite blogs and I could keep up with my Blogs as well.

I think the thing that pisses her off most about this is she has to wear at least a hospital gown and you know she prefers to be nude, of course when the morphine wears off and that Itis boy Arthur comes a'calling she might change her tune about what she is most pissed off about.
