Marijuana, Cocaine and Tranquilizers

Yesterday, July 5th, Angelynna Young was sentenced to 22 years in prison in Williamstown, Kentucky for crashing the school bus she was driving on January 17th of this year in Grant County Kentucky.

Why such a long time behind bars you might ask?

Well, crashing a school bus full of children into a utility pole isn't endearing you to the judge in the first place but doing do while on Marijuana, Cocaine and Tranquilizers (all at the same time -- which is beyond stupid in and of itself, but I digress), pretty much puts your name on the 'shit list' at the top.

Sending two kids to the hospital and injuring fourteen others when you do so writes your name in bold letters and highlights it with all kinds of red flags, exclamation points, asterisks, etc.

Ms. Young had plead guilty, but was in court to try and change that plea to not guilty on July 5th but was rejected by the judge, who took the prosecutor's recommendation of 22 years behind bars.

*****

It is about time we start dealing with those using drugs thusly, after a few such instances of having to truly face the consequences of their actions maybe the rest will 'sober up' and the need for a 'war on dugs' with evaporate.

In ten years when Ms. Young comes up for parole, I am sure the young boy who now has to were a protective helmet for the rest of his life is there to say and show the results of her actions were.

And lest you who imbibe of the grape and the grain think you are not 'using drugs' remember alcohol is a drug and the old tools used by the goalors of the medieval period to exact punishment upon those who transgressed can and should be re-instituted for use to exact punishment on those who transgress by using drugs ---anyone up for a stay in an Iron Maiden ... and no I don't mean the heavy metal band either!
