Authorities said a 22-year-old Tampa man used his grandfather as a shield while he was being arrested.

According to an arrest affidavit, the man pulled his 72-year-old grandfather out of a chair and in front of officers Wednesday morning.

The man kept fighting after his grandfather was removed for the scene.

He was charged with two counts of felony battery and resisting arrest with violence and was taken to jail.
