Peafowl first came to the Palos Verdes Peninsula almost a century ago
when Palos Verdes founder Frank Vanderlip received 12 birds as a gift.
Now, there are hundreds. The birds roam streets and roofs in the city of
Rolling Hills Estates. Some residents love the peafowl and some wish
the city would take more control.
