The Death's-Head Hawkmoth Is Stranger Than Fiction

The death's-head hawkmoth is no invention of fiction. It is named for the striking skull-like pattern on its thorax. The moths have been spooking people for centuries with this ghoulish getup, but their behavior is stranger still.
