A 54-year-old man waiting at Catford Bridge station in south east London
was assaulted by three men because he wouldn't let them try on his top
hat.
Police want to trace three men over the incident, which happened just after 10pm on February 28.
According to officers, a trio approached the man on the Catford Bridge platform and asked if they could try his hat on.
He refused and boarded a train to Charing Cross, followed by the men.
On the train, one of the men approached the victim again before he was
assaulted, suffering facial injuries, and had his hat stolen.
Investigating officer Stephen Allen said: "I am keen to speak to the men in the CCTV images as they may hold vital information to my investigation and I urge them to come forward."
