This Pupa Looks Like a Snake

This is how Nature says, "Do not touch."
In its pupal stage, the Dynastor darius butterfly looks like the rearing head of a snake. If you're searching for a snack and would like to prey upon a a vulnerable insect, you might take a pass on this one. Although it's still in its chrysalis, the Dynastor can shake from side to side, which only heightens the illusion. You can read more about it at Discovery.
