The Piper Cherokee aircraft landed at 6:18pm near John Wayne Airport during rush-hour traffic.
The plane is based at the airport, but is owned by Orange Coast College. No injuries or damage to the plane was reported.

Because the plane’s wings do not fold up, the plane was parked outside
the airport until Thursday morning, when it was taken inside through a
wider gate. The Federal Aviation Administration are to conduct an
investigation.
