Shoplifting seagull ejected from store after stealing packet of peanuts
A seagull was caught shoplifting from a convenience store, much to the annoyance of the shop's owner.
The bird casually waddled in through the front door of the Sweet News
store in Aberdeen before heading towards a fruit stand, where after
perusing the items on offer took a peck at a lemon.
Seemingly dissuaded by the sour fruit, he then looked around at what else is on offer before grabbing a bag of peanuts from
another nearby stand.
The bird then attempted to get into the bag before quickly fleeing the
scene of the crime after shouts from the shop's owner Zaman Iqbal.
Mr Iqbal, 24, said: "We do get seagulls quite often trying to come into
the store, but we try to scare them away and keep them out.
This is the first time a seagull has shoplifted from us. When I chased
the seagull out people asked what I was doing, but I had to do what I
had to do."
