Etymologically Speaking
The word "fascinate" has an unexpected etymology: From Latinfascinātus, perfect passive participle of fascinō (“enchant, bewitch, fascinate”), from fascinum (“a phallus-shaped amulet worn around the neck used in Ancient Rome; witchcraft”).
