The true nature of mysterious fast radio bursts (FRBs) may not have been revealed after all.
Astronomers have found a monster black hole, some 17 billion
times more massive than the sun, in a modestly sized galaxy, raising
suspicions that supermassive black holes may be much more common than
originally thought.
New measurements show that quasars can blow far past the
theoretical temperature limit of 100 billion degrees Kelvin (179 billion
degrees Fahrenheit), which has scientists puzzled.
