The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office said Gary W. Griblin, 61, nearly hit a
passing vehicle with the gunfire shortly before his arrest on Friday.
“We believe Griblin was intoxicated and told deputies he was shooting into the air,” Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher said.
The deputy who made the arrest had to call for assistance because Griblin refused to get into the patrol vehicle. Griblin is charged with assault, unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest, armed criminal action and sexual misconduct.
