Couple charged with assaulting each other with pizza rolls

A couple from Gastonia, North Carolina, were taken into custody after authorities say the two assaulted each other using pizza rolls.
Brad Scott Beard, 24, and Samantha Brooke Canipe, 21, were each charged and booked into the Gaston County Jail on Monday morning. Gastonia police said the couple started throwing pizza rolls at each other at their apartment at about 1am.
It is unclear what led to the dispute, how many rolls were thrown or the brand of rolls that were used. Beard is charged with assault on a female and Canipe is charged with simple assault, both misdemeanors.
The difference in the two charges means that Beard faces a maximum punishment of 60 days in jail, or community service, if found guilty, according to state sentencing rules. Canipe faces up to 30 days in jail.
