Are jokesters screwing up data on gay teenagers?
Surveys can help researchers better understand the lives of teens, but skeptics argue that youth are often dishonest and that the results cannot be trusted.
This idea led into a study published a few years ago, which called into question over a decade of research on the health and well-being of lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) youth.
In a new study, we challenged this idea with our own search for jokesters in this data. We discovered that more than 98 percent of youth told the truth on self-report surveys. We also found that LGB youth were not any more likely than heterosexual youth to provide mischievous responses.

Woman strips naked at the Western Wall
The Times of Israel reported the woman, who is from the Jerusalem area, was stopped by security guards who covered her and and then detained her, a police statement said.
The streaker prompted shouts and screams from people praying at the Western Wall, the most sacred site in Judaism. “People started to scream and cry and when she started moving toward the men’s section, she was stopped by force,” one witness told Israel’s Channel 2.
Eventually the woman was escorted from the Western Wall’s open plaza and questioned. According to witnesses, she entered the area in clothed and then got undressed in the women’s section. The woman appeared to have come determined to “cause a provocation,” one onlooker claimed.
In a YouTube video of the incident that has subsequently been removed, the woman is filmed from behind slowly walking towards the men’s section. Entrances and areas of prayer are segregated at the Western Wall, as is common in Orthodox Jewish synagogues.
One woman can be seen trying to cover the naked woman with a shawl, but she is pushed away by the naked woman who then makes a dash for the men’s section. She made it as far as the entrance to the male section before she is stopped.Two men are seen carrying her to a nearby bathroom area, not far from a small police station.
The detained woman’s family said she has suffered psychological issues, according to Channel 2.
The Western Wall, one of last remaining structures that formed part of the outer wall of Jerusalem’s Second Temple, is the closest point to where the temple itself stood, and is the holiest place for prayer in Judaism.
It lies in Jerusalem’s Old City, which was captured with the rest of east Jerusalem by Israeli forces during the Six Day War in 1967.

What the researchers found was that the liars had a distinctive average mouse movement that was more circuitous than the truth tellers. Even if Puerto Rico votes “yes,” Congress must still pass a law in order to change the island’s legal status from that of a commonwealth to a state. Congress, however, seems likely to drag its feet. That’s what happened when Hawaii became a state in the 1950s – an experience that offers some interesting and relevant parallels to the Puerto Rican case.
Like Puerto Rico today, Hawaii was a developed place when its residents applied for statehood. This is in contrast with some earlier states like Ohio and Wyoming that were carved out of sparsely populated territories. Hawaii’s population in the 1950s – just under half a million – was greater than that of several other states, something that is true for Puerto Rico today.
As novelist James Michener observed, “Hawaii is by far the most advanced state culturally that has ever been admitted to the Union.” Michener was referring to the high number of firmly established schools, churches, libraries and museums there – something Puerto Rico can also boast about.
Other parallels between the two include a location outside the continental U.S. and a diverse population in terms of race and ethnicity.

Pakistani man sentenced to death for anti-Islam content on social media
The prosecutor explained that the court found Taimoor Raza guilty of using Facebook and WhatsApp to “disseminate" or "upload" hate material, including "offensive pictures and comments” against Prophet Mohammad and his companions. Raza has the right to appeal the verdict.
Qureshi said the Facebook account Raza was running had more than 3,500 friends, or followers.
The defense counsel was not immediately available for comments on the allegations against his client.
Counterterrorism forces arrested Raza about a year ago and police records showed the man had confessed he was working for outlawed Sipah-e-Muhammad, which is a Shi’ite militant group.
The organization has been locked in a deadly rivalry with militants from Pakistan’s majority Sunni Muslim population. The years of sectarian conflict has killed thousands of people around the country.

Earlier this week, the country's Supreme Court exonerated a man sentenced to life imprisonment by a lower court on allegations of desecrating the Holy book of Quran.
The ruling noted that the lower courts "appeared to have not conducted a fair trial of the case" before awarding the punishment.

This does not help the dispelling of stereotypes about islam.Whether or not he is guilty of terrorist activities the condemnation for 'blasphemy' is a joke and tactic used to repress and control the population.
It was used extensively before in western society during a period we call the Dark Ages by another 'religion' as it has been used by 'religions' from time immemorial and obviously it's use is still being attempted today in lesser societies.
Also this method will have the opposite effect as it has every time throughout the ages - it breeds terrorists not prevent them, so if he was a terrorist or not there will be one (or more) that are because of this.

A small, but growing, fraction of patients is choosing to stay completely awake, with no sedation. They're joining two groups that have long remained conscious during surgery: many women delivering babies through Cesarean sections; and certain brain patients, such as those receiving deep brain stimulation, who must be able to communicate with doctors during their procedures...
Another obstacle the study identified: Surgeons said it's more difficult to teach residents — doctors in training after medical school — if patients are awake. Plus, some patients don't like knowing that residents are participating in their procedures.

Now nearly nine months after the Games ended, it looks like organizers in Rio de Janeiro are still experiencing some hiccups. The latest issue has to do with medals handed out to more than 130 winners — they’re rusting, chipping or as Agence France-Presse put it, “falling to pieces.”...Also:
