Archaeologists uncover villa from ancient Rome
The University of South Florida reported that a team excavating the 5,400-square-foot Roman villa called Durrueli, near the coastal town of Realmonte on the Italian island Sicily, finding new sections of the estate and clues about what happened within its walls.
NASA mission to Venus will explore weird atmosphere
Scientists are trying to understand the how the atmosphere interacts with ultraviolet light because they have noticed a strange effect: According to NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, something in the cloud tops absorbs light in this spectrum. They can see this when they view Venus across different wavelengths.
Vegetarian dinosaur could explain split in evolution
The dinosaur had a unique mix of features, some of which belonged to the theropod group of dinosaurs—mostly carnivorous beasts that included Tyrannosaurus rex —but also other characteristics that placed it outside that classification, such as flat, leaf-shaped teeth that indicated a vegetarian diet.

Texas dispatcher asked to alter police reports to cover up racial profiling
According to the Houston Press, a former dispatcher from the Memorial Villages Police Department in the Houston suburbs has accused the department of racism.
One of the specific accusations L. Kelly, the African-American former dispatcher, made was that she “was asked to alter arrest data to conceal racial profiling.”
Kelly (who worked for the department for 6 years) also said she regularly heard officers use racial slurs about black and Latino people. According to her lawsuit, she was once made to watch a video depicting a white woman calling then-President Barack Obama the n-word and claiming she hopes he is assassinated.
