Daily Word

Today's Daily Word is:

Snam (se' - nam) n - To snatch or rob.
[Mostly used to describe the kind of theft which consists of picking up anything lying about and making off with it rapidly]
19th century English slang from John Camden Hotten's Slang Dictionary, 1887.

Daily Funny

And you wonder why they don't get it right?!
Much less 'Get It'!

Oops!

Somehow I think she lost 'points' for that move.

This Day In History

Two hundred twenty years ago on this day September 17th, 1789 the United States Constitution was adopted.

Let us celebrate it throughout this week the 17th thru the 23rd of September as Constitution Week.

And let us remember that it WILL stand despite the current assault on it by the cabal and the shrub who has called it a "Goddamned piece of paper"!

And for those who don't know what it looks like here is that "Goddamned Piece of Paper", which isn't written on paper anyway it is on parchment!

Confused Say ...

One who has head up ass has shitty view of things.

Strange World

No More Money.

It's high time we cut the purse strings to the war in Iraq and let the shrub pay for it out of his own pocket. He and the rest of the cabal have been making obscene amounts of money on it and are continuing to do so using our money and none of their own while we are getting poorer and poorer.

Yes, I know 'private' wars are illegal - but when has anything being illegal mattered to the shrub.
So let him use his money to pay for mercenaries in lieu of using our military as mercenaries, why should he be able to get off so cheaply - mercs cost you know, soldiers are free.

Tell your congressman you want your money used for something else besides the war in Iraq today!

Pepsi

Pepsi ... the taste born in North Carolina.

Nothing could be finer than a cold Pepsi and peanuts except maybe a cold Pepsi and a Moon Pie!

(This advertisement brought to you by your local Coca-Cola distributer - Drink Pepsi)

Daily Funny

Did you hear the one about the fellow who parked his car in front of a which said ...

FINE FOR PARKING

And I Quote

"Major mistake!"

What Fed Chairman Allen Greenspan had to say when asked about the shrub as president.

It Doesn't Any Better Than This!

Good Investment

Look at what is a really good investment ... Confederate currency.
Actual Confederate currency is gaining value and is one of the hottest things in the 'Collector's Market' and is worth up to 100 times the face value of the bill.
For all them Yankees that laughed when we kept our money the last laugh is on them ... the Federal currency is tanking around the world while the Confederate currency is rising.

Fortune Cookie Say ...

Let yourself be talked into doing something outrageous.

Americans do not like the Iraq War.

There have been some apologists claiming that American citizens do not oppose the war in Iraq because there have been no mass demonstrations against the war by American citizens (wrong there have been), and only small handfuls of 'foreign' protesters in foreign countries (actually there have been massively gigantic demonstrations against the war in foreign countries that are our 'friends' much less even larger demonstrations in countries that are not our friends), but they can no longer claim that (though they will - previous demonstrations haven't dented their powers of denial) as massive numbers protesting the war marched on Congress today.

Night Funny

This evening's submission to the humor files is from my granddaughter "G".

What to bees chew?

Bumble gum.

What I can't believe ...

What I can't believe is that this television show was actually popular when it was in production. Much less even more popular today.

Chores

Working on the pond is always better nude and the fish like a clean pond to swim in.

Just one of many chores around the house ... all of which are better performed nude.

One of those days.

Ever had one of those days?!

Busted at the Mail Box

Just got back to the house from checking the mail (I forgot to yesterday, O.K.) and while I was there I was almost hit by a car.
While this is nothing unusual - the traffic (on the only straight part of the road in the entire county ... which runs right across my front lawn) is horrendous and everyone thinks the half mile stretch is a drag strip.
What made this one notable was the fact it was a car full of Hispanics fleeing the police and for some reason they decided to swerve off the road right beside my mailbox and jump out of the car and begin to start to "clean it out" before the police arrived with the help of a pick-up truck load of Hispanics stopping to help them - which also just missed hitting me. Then came the police.
They were not too successful at "cleaning out the car" before the police's arrival - besides I had seen what they were trying to hide so it was futile on their party anyway.
Why they thought the police would not search the truck is beyond me, but all the 'bales' they threw into the open bed of the truck were in plain sight.
As I began to walk the mile back up to the house I left 10 Hispanics in handcuffs squatting on the side of the road and at least 50lbs of Marijuana (I counted twenty or so Kilo 'bales' as they were tossing them into the truck bed) in the capable hands of the local police.
They will be by later to get my statement as to what I saw. You know I might just get that truck at the impound yard as it was seized along with the car for being used in drug trafficking.
