Americans do not like the Iraq War.

Chores

Busted at the Mail Box
Just got back to the house from checking the mail (I forgot to yesterday, O.K.) and while I was there I was almost hit by a car.
While this is nothing unusual - the traffic (on the only straight part of the road in the entire county ... which runs right across my front lawn) is horrendous and everyone thinks the half mile stretch is a drag strip.
What made this one notable was the fact it was a car full of Hispanics fleeing the police and for some reason they decided to swerve off the road right beside my mailbox and jump out of the car and begin to start to "clean it out" before the police arrived with the help of a pick-up truck load of Hispanics stopping to help them - which also just missed hitting me. Then came the police.
They were not too successful at "cleaning out the car" before the police's arrival - besides I had seen what they were trying to hide so it was futile on their party anyway.
Why they thought the police would not search the truck is beyond me, but all the 'bales' they threw into the open bed of the truck were in plain sight.
As I began to walk the mile back up to the house I left 10 Hispanics in handcuffs squatting on the side of the road and at least 50lbs of Marijuana (I counted twenty or so Kilo 'bales' as they were tossing them into the truck bed) in the capable hands of the local police.
They will be by later to get my statement as to what I saw. You know I might just get that truck at the impound yard as it was seized along with the car for being used in drug trafficking.

Being a nudist.
What constitutes being a nudist?
That question is really a baffling one even to those who call themselves nudists.
The simple and most honest answer is anyone who prefers to be nude is a nudist.
Whether they are in tune with nature, live according to the 'social nudism' philosophy, or just live sans clothing for the fun of it, all are nudists.

Not Funny - The NFL Scandals
It's not funny - the cheating of Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. It is a disgrace. It is a disgrace along the same lines as the vileness that was Michael Vick's perverse endeavors into dog fighting.A $500,000.00 personal fine for Coach Belichick and a $250,000.00 fine for the team along with the loss of one draft pick next draft hardly constitutes a penalty for the loss of faith in a child's eye or the hearts of football fans.
At the very least Vick is going to spend time in a 6 by 8 room with bars on the door and window (if it even has a window), for his behavior. Belichick and the Patriots are going about business as usual, even the Atlanta Falcons (Vick's former team) are feeling the after effects of Vick's actions so must the Patriots feel the consequences of their actions for theirs were as a 'team' whereas the Falcons were just caught in the web of Vick's downfall.
This NFL season is going to be a depressing one no matter how good any of the games are because of these 'scandals' ... and you know I am beginning to hate them for that!

Which Historical Lunatic Are You?
Sometimes those internet 'tests' are fun to take and when I ran across one that asked "Which historical lunatic are You!", I had to take it.
The test concluded I was Joshua Abraham Norton, the First and Only Emperor of the United States.
Which isn't all that bad, he was a successful man who lost it all but when he died 30,000 people formed a two mile long funeral procession to say goodbye to a friend to kings and paupers alike.
I like the successful part and the friend to kings and paupers thing; the losing it all part isn't on my 'favorites' list, but if 30,000 people showed up to my funeral losing it all might just well be worth it.

Chilies For Me
I have always preferred hot chilies - the hotter the better.
I always knew they were good for your heart and blood but now they are proven to help lessen the chance of developing prostate cancer and reducing prostate cancer cells should one already suffer from the disease.
Capsaicin the chemical in peppers or chilies that make them 'hot' does the number on the cancer cells already there and prevents new ones from forming - it is also the chemical used in muscle creams and rubs found over the counter in any store in America.
The moral of this is:
Men who prefer their chilies are less likely to be sick generally or develop heart and prostate problems than their less 'manly' brethren are.
Even My "Opponents" Are Singing Praises

Some of the people on other forums who usually are at loggerheads with me - mainly over politics - are 'singing' my praises for this and her sister Blog ... even to the point of being complimentary and polite (in private messages of course, they don't want to put a crack in their personal 'public' personas, no they do not).
So I might be winning them over to the Light after all and they are joining my 'friends' from across the geo-political-religious spectrum ... all it takes in a working brain and the ability and willingness to use it - something some are unfortunately unwilling and/or incapable of doing.

Pic-Line May Be Out
We were informed today that the Pic-Line in the Mrs., arm may come out next Monday - she is responding to the antibiotics really well.
That will be a good thing - not to sound selfish, but, I haven't slept any length of time since the Sunday before Labor Day worrying about her and I am bone ass tired.
The first few days in the hospital I didn't sleep at all - of course neither did she until the morphine they gave her kicked in and for the last few days at home she has been sleeping like a baby.

"J" takes after papa.
My grandson "J" called me tonight to let me know his football team played a piss poor game but still won 15-14. He is a chip off the old block, he isn't satisfied with a less than perfect game.
He switched from middle linebacker to wide receiver this season which makes him a deadly threat to opposing defenses - he plays like a middle linebacker as a wide receiver ... with total abandon ... what's more he catches anything within ten feet of him and he is faster than greased lightning in a can.
I was somewhat let down when said he wanted to switch because he had originally wanted to play the same position his papa played, that's why he played the middle linebacker position, but when I saw him still playing 'linebacker-like', I knew he was just like his papa - I should have known he'd switch to one he liked because he is a striker for the soccer team while I was a goalie and he has always said he wanted to be like me when he grew up .... and I'll be damned if he isn't.
Of course he was a tad undersized for linebacker he is only 13 and 5'4' @ 90lbs (at his age I was 6' and 190lbs) but he plays like he was a 6'3" 295lbs bruiser and with his speed, quickness when he is a 6'3" bruiser look out.
Now if his quarterback can learn to throw better and deeper ...
