NASA has selected a $200 million mission to carry out a
full-sky survey for exoplanets orbiting nearby stars. The space
observatory, called the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), is

The hundreds of volcanoes on Io are strangely farther east than they're supposed to be.
The sun has cut communications from Earth to Mars rover

Swiss Space Systems' SOAR rocket plane is scheduled to start
launching satellites into orbit by the end of 2017.
Astronomers working on a multi-year program with the Hubble
Space Telescope have announced the discovery of the most distant
supernova ever observed, a stellar explosion that occurred over 10
billion years ago.
The Kepler space telescope's prime objective is to hunt for
small worlds orbiting distant stars, but that doesn't mean it's not
going to detect some extreme relativistic phenomena along the way.
This might look like a painting of a fantasy star scene but
it's actually a very real image from three of the world's most advanced
space telescopes.
