An albino alligator at the Sao Paulo aquarium in Brazil is being given acupuncture to help treat its bad back.
Bino suffers from a Lordosis, which is an abnormal curvature of his spine, and in animals is also termed kyphosis.
The alligator has been receiving weekly acupuncture sessions, which his vet Daniela Cervatti says has been a huge success. "His response (to the acupuncture) was wonderful," she said.
"He was without sensitivity in two or three sections. He has already
regained sensitivity in his feet and he started to move more.
"He wasn't entering the water, but he has started to. The response we
have seen in him has been very gratifying."
