The Kiipsaare Lighthouse on the Harilaid peninsula of Saaremaa island,
Estonia, watches silently over the Baltic. The lighthouse was built at
the tip of the peninsula in 1933. At that time the
lighthouse
was almost 100 metres (330 ft) inland, but it is now a few metres
offshore. It is now unused, and has a pronounced lean as a result of
erosion.
