Police report that at approximately 2:30pm on Saturday officers were
dispatched following a report of a stolen motor vehicle that had crashed
in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts, with the suspect fleeing from the scene
on foot. Officers responded to the location and initiated an
investigation.
Around 5 to 10 minutes later, officers were dispatched to a nearby
residence for a report of breaking and entering. Officers responded and met with the victim who stated they arrived home
and found a ground-level window forced in. Items were reported stolen
and the victim’s dog had been painted purple.
Officers spoke to a neighbor who reported a man knocked on their door
and asked for a man who didn’t reside at the residence. The neighbor
provided a description of the man to investigating officers and noted he
looked disheveled.
Upon receiving this description, officers deemed Felix Reagan, 19, a
suspect in both incidents.
Reagan had been arrested by the Oak Bluffs Police on June 3rd on charges
of breaking and entering.
While officers were searching the area for Reagan, a resident called and
reported a male was looking into the window of their home. Officers
then began a search of the neighborhood. A Massachusetts State Police
Trooper located Reagan and took him into custody. A search of Reagan’s
person revealed prescription pills, a driver’s license and credit cards
that were stolen from the victim of the earlier house break-in.
Reagan also had purple paint on his pants which was consistent with the paint that was found on the dog from
the break-in.
Reagan was transported to the Oak Bluffs Police station for questioning.
While in the police cruiser Reagan attempted to kick out the windows
and kicked an Oak Bluffs Officer on two occasions. Reagan was charged
with breaking and entering, larceny of a motor vehicle, destruction of
property, cruelty to animals, two counts of assault and battery on a
police officer and drug possession.
These incidents remain under investigation and more charges may be
filed.
