Suspected surveillance camera thief helpfully left lasting impression
A man suspected of stealing security cameras from the outside of a
Harbor City, Los Angeles home helpfully filmed himself during the act.
LAPD Detective Don Eldridge said detectives are taking the normal steps
required to find the burglar but admitted that, thanks to the images,
their job should be easier.
“We have his face,” Eldridge said, of the near crystal-clear images. “You can change your clothes, but you can’t change your face, so we know what he looks like.”
The cameras captured him going onto the driveway of the home and then
disabling the cameras before taking them off the property. "I don't
think he knew they were running," Detective Juan Camacho said. "It's pretty stupid."
